Nepal has faced Laos in the preliminary stage of the FIFA World Cup football and AFC Asian Cup 2027 Asian qualifiers.
According to the match schedule published at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, it is confirmed that Nepal will face Laos to enter the second round.
Nepal will play two home and away matches with Laos.
The first leg of the two-leg qualifiers to be held in October will be held on October 12, while the second leg will be held on October 17. If Nepal wins this match, it will enter the second round.
48 different nations will compete in FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Similarly, there will be a competition between 24 nations in the Asian Cup qualifiers. 20 different nations will play in the first round of World Cup football and AFP Asian Cup qualifiers.
Along with Nepal and Lao, Afghanistan and Mongolia, Maldives and Bangladesh, Singapore and Guam, Yemen and Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Macau, Cambodia and Pakistan, Chinese Taipei and East Timor, Indonesia and Brunei and Hong Kong and Bhutan will compete in the initial stage.
