The National Sports Council (NSC) board meeting held on Friday has determined that Nepal will be participating in 23 competitions in the upcoming Asiad.
The Asian Games will be held from September 10 to September 20. As it is the biggest official competition in which Nepal can easily participate, the council has made a strategy of giving exposure to as many players as possible.
The meeting also decided to include 36 sports in the Ninth National Games scheduled to be held in Gandaki from June 7 to 8. Two exhibition games are also included. The procedure for the ninth game has also been passed.
NSC's board meeting was held almost two years after the implementation of the National Sports Development Act in July 2020. It is also seen as an important step in the implementation of the new law.
