Pakistan has reached semifinal with 1-1 draw against the Maldives in the U19 SAFF Championship Football Tournament underway in Kathmandu, the federal capital of Nepal. Pakistan secured its journey to semifinal by playing 1-1 draw against the Maldives in a match at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor on Saturday. Placed into Group ‘A’, Pakistan has made it to semifinal with four points in two matches. In the first match on Friday, Pakistan beat Nepal 1-0.
Maldives took the first lead in the match with a goal by Sanan Rasheed Rashad in the 39th minutes.
Then the match between the two teams equaled with a goal by Pakistan’s Shah Jahan in the 84th minutes, leading the match to a draw.
Nepal is placed into Group ‘A’ along with Pakistan and the Maldives. Pakistan has collected four points from two matches, and the Maldives one points from one match. Nepal is pointless. Nepal will take on the Maldives on coming 25 September. The winning team will reach semifinals.
