Qatar has successfully hosted the 10th edition of the Arab Cup in which Algeria beat Tunisia to win the title in the final on December 18. Qatar will host the 11th edition of the Arab Cup in 2022.
Qatar will host the World Cup for the first time from November 21 to December 18, 2022. This is the second World Cup to be held in Asia, after Japan and South Korea jointly hosted the World Cup in 2002.
The tournament is being held in November and December, which means players will have to skip domestic league games and join the national team. This edition of the World Cup is considered unusual because of having to leave the club football games and come to Qatar to represent their country. Previous World Cups used to start in June-July.
Many of Qatar's stadiums will be filled with 50,000 or 60,000 spectators next year. Qatar is preparing modern stadiums for the World Cup.
