Nepal is playing against India in the SAFF championship today. Coach of the Nepali National Football team Abdullah Almutairi said that Nepal would play for the victory.
"India is a strong team in every way. However, that does not mean that we are weak. "We have two games left and we are close to the final," Almutairi told a news conference in Male, Maldives today.
Nepal is at the top with 6 points after winning the first two games. India has added two points from two games and is in fourth place. India is now under pressure to win the remaining games to make it to the finals.
India has won the tournament a maximum of seven times. In this edition too, India is the main contender for the title. However, India is under pressure after unexpected results in the first two games. Nepal will reach the final if they beat India in today’s game.
Nepal will play India at the National Stadium in Male, Maldives today at 9.45 pm Nepali time.
