Sanil Shahi of Lalitpur clinched the first place after defeating Chiring Lama of Boxmandu by 5-0. He won the IBA men's 67 kg weight category in the open selection competition for the World Boxing Championship on Monday.
With this, the selection competition has been completed. There were 32 participants in 5 competitions. The finals of the four competitions ended on Sunday.
Rabin Thapa of HTU, Puran Rai of APF (57 kg), Bhupendra Thapa Magar of Nepal Police (13 kg) and Vikas Lama (71 kg) of APF won the 51 kg and 71 kg categories respectively.
The selection committee formed by the Boxing Association for the World Championship will select the players on the basis of the best of the five, said Ram Awale, president of the Nepal Boxing Association.
The World Championships will be held in Belgrade, Serbia from October 25 to November 6.
