Super League cricket to be held in Jhapa for first time

For the first time, a Super League cricket tournament will be held in Mechinagar Municipality-6, Kakadvitta from April 15. Players including national players Karan KC and Mehbub Alam, and Manjit Shrestha will play in the tournament to be organized by Lord Buddha Cricket Academy Kakadvitta from 3 to 10 April.

The teams participating in the Shiv Shakti Group Rasoi Jhapa Super League Cricket Tournament have started including national players. Virtamode's Boston Blasters Club will field players including Karan KC. The Boston Cricket Academy, which was established three years ago in Birtamod, is planning to field players including national cricket team member Karan KC in JSL, said Chairman Sovit Banstola.

He said that the club has signed Samir Karki as a marquee player and Minas Thapa as an iconic player. He informed us that the captain of the team will be Suraj Khadka. Bhadrapur Rising Kings has bought Rupak Baral as a marquee player and former national cricketer Manjit Shrestha as an iconic player. Former national cricket all-rounder Mehbub Alam has been contracted to include one national player in the squad.

Amit Shrestha, Prem Singh, Shravan Yadav, Sumiran Rai, Grisal Poudel, Sujan Ghimire, Vivek Pokhrel, Arjodhi Mallik, Aashiq Rana Magar, Vishnu Kamati, Shekhar Khadka, Movin Ali, Sanjeev Tamang, Manish Kamati and Praveen Puri are playing from Bhadrapur.

Similarly, the Virat Warriors of Suman Prasai, Biru Shrestha and Hiten Shrestha will have Ankit Subedi as marquee player and former national player Siddhant Lohani as iconic player. According to the team, Adil Ansari has been contracted as the national player.

Other players include Abhay Timsina, Arjun Dahal, Sonu Ansari, Nitya Khadoria, Vipin Mahato, Anil Lamichhane, Anish Luintel, Vinod Raut, Shivans Bajgain, Santosh Kami, Sumit Neupane, Vasant Chauhan, Gaurav Bhattarai, Rohin Rai and Adarsh ​​Saria.

The winning team of the competition will get Rs. 211,000 and the runner-up will get Rs. 111,000. The runner-up prize money was sponsored by Bal Krishna Thapa, a media entrepreneur and youth leader from Kakadvitta. Chairman of the organizing club Himal Portel said that the cricket tournament involving famous and popular players of Nepal would add liveliness not only in Jhapa but also in Province No.1.
