Tottenham's Europa Conference League came to an abrupt end after they were compelled to forfeit their final group stage game against Rennes.
The fixture was postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak at Tottenham. There were discussions about rescheduling the match, however, the two clubs could not agree on a date for a rearrangement. This led to a decision by UEFA which gave French side Rennes a 3-0 victory.
The loss has left Antonio Conte's side with a third-place finish in Group G which threw them out of the competition.
The Chairman of the UEFA Appeals Body took this decision: "To declare the 2021/22 Uefa Europa Conference League group stage match between Tottenham Hotspur FC and Stade Rennais FC, that was initially scheduled to be played on 9 December 2021, as forfeited by Tottenham Hotspur FC, who is therefore deemed to have lost the match 0-3 in accordance with Annex J.3.1 to the Regulations of the Uefa Europa Conference League (2021/22 Season)."
