Women's SAFF Championship Opening match: Nepal vs Bhutan

The sixth edition of the Women's SAFF Championship will be held from today at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar. Along with the host Nepal, seven countries including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives, and Bhutan are participating in the SAFF Championship. It is divided into two groups A and B. Nepal is in Group B.

Sri Lanka and Bhutan are in Nepal's group. India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives are in Group A. Nepal will play against Sri Lanka in the second match of the group stage. This match will be held on the 27th of August. The top two teams from the group will advance to the semi-finals.

Today's opening match will be between Nepal and Bhutan at 5:30 PM. The Nepali team made up of a mixture of experienced and young players is hoping to make a good start in the competition by defeating Bhutan, while Bhutan also wants to make a good start in the competition by defeating Nepal. Kumar Thapa, the head coach of the Nepali national football team, said that they will perform well in the tournament and will focus on the league stage first.

Similarly, the team includes Manjalikumari Yonjan, Priti Rai, Saru Limbu, Deepa Rai, Deepa Shahi, Indira Rai, Anita Basnet, Anita KC, Amisha Karki, Rekha Kumari Paudel, Savitra Bhandari and Rashmikumari Ghising.
