Phurba Tenzing Sherpa, a 15-time Mt Everest Summiteer, recently climbed Amadablam. In a conversation with a NepalNews representative in Kathmandu today
He informed that there is lack of water especially in Camp 1 and Camp 2 of Amadablam Himal. He clarified that this is simply because there is no snow due to global warming or ecological change. This is expected to increase the risk factor in climbing.
He said, "We carry water from base camp to camp 2. When we climb to the summit, naturally everyone gets tired." Amadablam is a technically challenging mountain. But, when one is descending to Camp 2 and there is no water. He said that this situation is unimaginable and life is in danger due to this situation.
Phurba expressed concern that the problem is getting serious day by day.
