Surendra Raj Pandey, the leader of the Nepali Congress Gandaki Province Parliamentary Party, has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province. Provincial Chief Prithviman Gurung has appointed Pandey as Chief Minister today according to the constitution.

With the support of 35 state assembly members including 27 from Congress, seven from CPN (Maoist Center) and one independent, leader Pandey submitted his claim to the Chief Minister today.
