An Israeli warplane bombed a house in a southern Lebanese village early Monday, killing three Hezbollah fighters and wounding three civilians, Lebanese medical and security officials said.
Official sources in the Civil Defense and the Muslim Scout Association said the airstrike hit the village of Yaroun near the border with Israel, adding rescue workers and ambulances rushed to the scene to remove the rubble and transport the casualties to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, anonymous Lebanese military sources told Xinhua that the Israeli military carried out five airstrikes in the morning in the region and fired about 50 shells at 11 towns and villages along the border.
The airstrikes came amid heightened tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border, which has seen frequent clashes between the Hezbollah group and the Israeli army since Oct. 8, 2023.
The cross-border violence has killed 247 people on the Lebanese side, including 179 Hezbollah fighters and 39 civilians, according to Lebanese security sources. Israel has not reported any casualties.
