The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Friday reported 302 new cases of coronavirus in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 268,948.
Of the newly infected, 133 are reported to be females and 169 males.
In the past 24 hours, 480 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by the MoHP. Altogether, 263,348 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Friday.
Currently, the country has 3,614 active cases with 97.9 per cent recovery rate.
The ministry also reported the death of seven persons from the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 1,986.
A total of 2,035,301 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests have been conducted in the country as of Friday.
Likewise, 3,614 people have been reported to be staying in isolation while 158 others are in the quarantine facility in the country.
The MoHP on Thursday had reported 336 new cases of coronavirus taking the nationwide tally to 268,646.
More than 97.35 million people have been reported to be infected by the virus worldwide and at least 2,090,177 have died, a Reuters tally showed.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
