BAJURA: Two people have died and three others have sustained injuries when a Scorpio jeep met with an accident at Martadi, the headquarters of Bajura district, today. The jeep (Su Pa Pra 01 001 Cha 4316) was carrying pilgrims returning from Malika Temple at Badimalika Municipality-8.
The deceased are 31-year-old Gayatri Panta of Bhimdatta Municipality-17, and Radhika Bhatta of Bhimdatta Municipality-18, Kanchanpur district. Panta died on the spot while Bhatta died while undergoing treatment at a health facility, said the District Police Office.
Those injured in the accident are 25-year-old Ramesh Dhami of Gaumul rural municipality-4, Bajura district, and Mohandev Bhatta of Gularia, Krishnapur-5 and 39-year-old Lokendra Panta of Bhimdatta Municipality-17, Kanchanpur district.
The injured ones are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital Bajura.
Meanwhile, seven people were injured when a jeep met an accident at Himali rural municipality in the north-east region of Bajura district today. The accident took place at Dhima of the same rural municipality. The jeep was carrying 13 people who were there to install the internet services of Everest Internet.
The accident occurred as the jeep driver lost control of the vehicle, the District Police Office Bajura stated. The injured ones have been rescued and taken to Kolti Hospital for treatment.

Two people have died in a jeep accident in Jumla today. The jeep heading towards Mugu from Gothijyula, Kanakasundari Rural Municipality-4, fell nearly 300 meters from the road at Chhalpunera of the rural municipality on the Nagma-Mugu road. The deceased are the jeep driver Abiraj Karki and his helper Rup Bahadur Rawal of Chhayanath Rara Municipality-5 and they died on the spot, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Prahlad Karki. Police said the investigation is underway in this connection.
Two people have died on the spot in a jeep accident at Junichande Gaonpalika-5 Garkhakot of the district. Nine other passengers were injured, police said.
The condition of five of the injured is critical while the condition of four others is normal, said Ram Bahadur Nepali, spokesperson of the village municipality and ward chairman.
The jeep heading towards Junichande Center from Surkhet met with an accident at Garkhakot (Velpuina) of Karnali Pradesh, Ward No. 5. There were 11 passengers in the jeep.
Spokesperson Nepali said that the district administration office has been requested to make arrangements for the helicopter as the condition of the injured is critical. Chief District Officer Ram Bahadur Shahi said that a rescue vehicle had been sent and a helicopter would reach the spot in half an hour.
