JHAPA: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has asked the party cadres to remain proactive against instability, anarchy and corruption in the country.

At a cadres’ gathering organized by CPN (UML) Jhapa District Committee in Birtamod on Monday, Oli said that the cadres, who carry the prideful history of joining the Jhapa rebellion, should not quit their revolutionary images even in peaceful politics. He said that the cadres should maintain internal party unity and discipline along with high morality on personal level.

“We will do something for the cause of the nation. We will bring changes and will end poverty and backwardness,” Oli said adding that we need massive efforts to bring about such changes. Only UML can do this and the current government is making efforts for this, PM Oli added.

Likewise, Chairman Oli asked the party cadres to develop robust relations with the people and take initiatives to resolve the citizens’ concerns.

Oli said that the UML should be developed as an exemplary political party that discards corruption and anarchy.

Similarly, Oli instructed the party cadres to counter the accusations labelled by the competitors and opponents in the social sites but not to make public comments about the intra-party feuds.

On a separate context, Oli said that the Cooperation on Belt and Road Initiative Framework signed during his recent China visit was beneficial for the country and added that cooperation and assistance was more prioritized without taking loans by considering the country’s current status.

“The present government is conscious about the country’s status. We know how to carry out development works,” the PM said.He was of the view that loan should also be accepted if we were able to repay by producing something out of it.

Oli mentioned that the BRI should be understood in a broader way, not merely as a loan or grant. “We have to do what is fruitful for our development,” according to the PM.
