SURKHET: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that no violation of human rights was committed from the part of Nepal Police while shifting Rabi Lamichhane from one district to another.

The Home Minister argued that leader Lamichhane was shifted from one district to another in the nighttime for his own security. At the Karnali Province-Level Security Seminar on Tuesday, Lekhak said that the government was committed to the human rights of all citizens.

“We are committed to the human rights of all citizens. No one’s human right is violated and would not be violated. In regard to Rabi Lamichhane, he was taken to Pokhara from Chitwan in the nighttime for his own security. Where does the matter of human rights violations come here,” the Home Minister questioned.

Likewise, he said that investigations were ongoing in the misappropriation of cooperative organizations’ money and said that attempts are being made to influence the investigation process by gathering the masses.

On the occasion, Minister Lekhak expressed his dissatisfaction to the encircling of police office, government attorney office and other demonstrations terming them as the efforts to influence the investigations.

He suggested one and all not to stage demonstrations on the street to influence the court’s functions.

Lekhak also said that investigations were ongoing against several people for their alleged involvement in the embezzlement of the cooperative’s funds.

On a concern about this coalition, he said it will continue until next general election.
