KATHMANDU: Both Nepal’s women’s and men’s teams have reached the finals of the Khokho World Cup, with both teams set to play for the championship today.
The women’s final will begin at 7:00 PM (Sunday) at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in India, while the men’s final will take place at 8:15 PM.
In the first semi-final of the women’s tournament on Saturday, held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Nepal triumphed over Uganda with an impressive 89-18 victory to secure their place in the final.
This achievement marks a historic milestone in Nepali sports, as Nepal has never before reached the World Cup title match in any sport.
A few hours after the women’s team secured their spot, Nepal’s men’s team also booked their place in the finals by defeating Iran 72-20.
The Nepali women’s team entered the final undefeated. They topped Group C with wins over Bhutan (93-24), Germany (73-34), Sri Lanka (110-10), and Bangladesh (84-24). Nepal then dominated Iran 103-8 in the quarterfinals, further solidifying their spot in the final.
