KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the country is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system.

The Division said that the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the remaining areas are mainly clear.

Thick fog has formed in the western Terai of Madhes Province and parts of the eastern Terai in Lumbini Province.

This afternoon, partly cloudy weather is expected in the mountainous and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Tonight, similar partly cloudy conditions are anticipated in these areas as well.

There is also a chance of light to moderate rainfall in some parts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, with light rain expected in a few places in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

The Division has urged the public to take necessary precautions, as mist and fog may affect various parts of the Terai and the Valley in the morning, potentially impacting daily life, agriculture, health, transportation, and air travel.
