Nepal loses to Australia by 83 runs in Women’s U19 T20 World Cup

KATHMANDU: Australia registered an 83-run victory against Nepal in the Women’s Under 19 World Cup on Wednesday at YSD-UKM Cricket Oval, Bangi, Malaysia.

Batting first, Australia scored 139 runs in the first inning in 6 wickets.

In response, Nepal scored only 56 runs in the stipulated 20 overs losing 8 wickets.

Nepal’s Puja Mahato scored 18 runs, Alisha Yadav 9, Sana Praveen 8, Sabitri Dhami 7, Seemana KC 6, Tirsana Bishwokarma and Riya Sharma scored one run each.

To wrap Nepal in just 56 runs Australia’s Hasrat Gill, Juliette Morton and Lily Bassingthwaighte took 2 wickets each whereas Chloe Ainsworth took a single wicket.

This was the third consecutive loss of Nepal in the Women’s Under 19 World Cup.

Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 5 wickets and lost to Scotland by one wicket.
