Martyrs’ role behind enlightenment: Speaker Ghimire

JHAPA: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has said present age of enlightenment was ensured after the sacrifice of martyrs. Martyrs’ sacrifice counts much to arrive this state of development in education and health, he argued.

The Speaker further said we are enjoying the present democratic dividends due to martyrs. He said it during a programme organized on the occasion of the Martyrs Day on Wednesday.

During the programme, Speaker Ghimire handed over the medical equipment and items to the Birtamod Municipal Hospital provided by an organization, ‘Helping Hand for Relief Development’. Nepal has made a stride in health sector, he claimed.

The Speaker reminded those difficult days that the Nepalis had to make a long journey to access health service, while the people from India visit Birtamod, Jhapa to access treatment to cancer and eye diseases at present.

He pointed out the need for making health insurance more reliable and well managed.

The organization provided the medical equipment and health materials worth Rs 20 million to various four health institutes of Jhapa district.

The medical equipment and goods were received and distributed with the initiative of Speaker Ghimire.

The health facilities to receive the medical assistance are Bitamod Municipal Hospital, Khudunabari Health Centre, Basic Hospital at Jhapa rural municipality and the Ayurved Hospital at Kamal rural municipality.
