KATHMANDU: A report relating to the bill on Tilganga University of Ophthalmology, 2081 BS was tabled in a meeting of today of the National Assembly.

President of Committee on Legislation Management, Tulasha Kumari Dahal, presented the report before the meeting. The bill was originated in the Upper House and sent to the Committee for clause-wise deliberations.

Twenty-nine lawmakers had proposed 71 amendments to the bill. President Dahal said experts’ suggestions including the amendment proposals were considered while preparing the report on the Bill that aimed to increase public access to eye health services, encourage new innovations in ophthalmology, ensure quality care and run a University on Ophthalmology as a public entity.

The Committee had endorsed the Bill on January 28.

The NA shall meet again at 1:15 pm on Thursday, February 6.
