Nepal calls for EU support to combat COVID-19

Nepali Ambassador to the European Union, Gehendra Rajbhandari, has urged the European Commission to help Nepal in its fight against COVID-19.

During a brief meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, after presenting a letter of credence on Wednesday before the President, Ambassador Rajbhandari urged for support including vaccine and necessary medicines after briefing about the problem Nepal has been facing due to COVID-19, according to Nepali Embassy in Brussels.

In response, the Commission President assured of helping Nepal in its fight against COVID-19 through networks of EU.

Ambassador Rajbhandari on the behalf of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli extended best wishes to President Leyen.
