The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday reported 171 new cases of coronavirus in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country’s COVID-19 tally to 271,289.
Of the newly infected, 71 are females while 100 are males.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 65 cases of coronavirus — 57 in Kathmandu and five in Lalitpur and three in Bhaktapur— in the past 24 hours. Of the newly infected, 24 are reported to be females and 41 are males.
In the past 24 hours, 259 people diagnosed with the infection have recovered as per the data shared by MoHP. Altogether, 266,859 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 as of Tuesday.
Currently, the country has 2,400 active cases with a 98.4 per cent recovery rate.
The nationwide death toll from the disease has reached 2,030 with the death of one more person in the last 24 hours, the MoHP shared.
Earlier, on Monday, the MoHP had reported 159 cases of coronavirus infection taking the country’s COVID-19 tally to 271,118
More than 103.43 million people have been reported to be infected by novel coronavirus while at least 2,236,895 people have died from the respiratory contagion worldwide, a Reuters tally showed.
