Police arrested a man on charge of raping a 13-year-old minor girl from Gauradaha Municipality-8 on Tuesday night.
The accused has been identified as Dev Murmu (27), a local resident of the same municipality in Jhapa district.
Murmu allegedly raped the minor by taking her to his in-laws’ house in Birtamod Municipality-7 on Friday night.
Acting on a tip-off, Anarmani-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed the accused.
Further investigation into the matter is being carried out, said the police.
Police in Jhapa district arrested a youth on charge of raping a 21-year-old girl from Buddhashanti Rural Municipality on Monday afternoon.
The accused has been identified as Nur Khan alias ‘Raju Thapa’ (24), a local resident of Pulchowk in the same municipality.
Khan allegedly lured and raped the girl at Bansbari-based Subhakamana Hotel and Lodge in Mechinagar Municipality-11 on June 22.
Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Dhulabari-based Area Police Office nabbed Khan.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
