Police arrested a man in possession of 53.2 grams of brown heroin in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-4 of Sunsari district.

The arrested has been identified as Durga Bahadur Rasaili (34) of Myaglung in Tehrathum district.

A joint team of security personnel deployed from the Biratnagar-based Narcotics Drug Control and Itahari-based Area Police Office arrested Rasaili after they found the narcotics on searching his house on Sunday evening. The police also recovered cash Rs 98,175 and seized a digital scale from his possession.

Further investigation into the case is underway after extending his custody from Sunsari District Court, informed District Police Office, Sunsari.
