Public transport operators protested this morning by not plying their buses. Many commuters were left wondering why there were no buses today on the streets.
Transport operators and workers were in protest mode as the government increased the price of petroleum and diesel but public transport operators were not permitted to increase the fares in the Valley.
Vehicles operating in the valley stayed off the road today demanding a fare hike. “Unless and until the government increases fares, we won’t operate our vehicles to carry passengers,” one bus driver stated.
