Police on Wednesday arrested an elderly man on the charge of raping a 7-year-old girl in Pakhribas Municipality of Dhankuta district.

The arrested has been identified as Dhan Bahadur Bishwokarma (77) of Pakhribas-3.

A team of police deployed from the Pakhribas-based Area Police Office arrested Bishwokarma after police were informed about the heinous crime.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
