Rahul Kayastha first heard about OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) brands when he was studying in Malaysia. He was immediately interested and knew that he wanted to do something with it.

He later shared his idea to open an OEM laptop company in Nepal with a couple of other friends. “It seemed doable and everyone agreed’,’ says Siddhartha Rai, Chief Operating Officer of Rippletech.  

Rippletech is Nepal’s first OEM laptop manufacturer. It was first launched in April 2020. The company brings different laptop parts from different parts of the world including Germany, Poland and other European countries. “We source some parts locally as well”, adds Rai.

Kayastha and his team came up with the idea of producing OEM laptops since the market for laptops is becoming more expensive with each passing year. Their main objective was to provide premium and cost-efficient laptops to the Nepali market, especially for Nepali gamers.
