Dish Home Nepal has been operating in the field of television broadcasting for more than decade today. Prior to its establishment, the national bodies saw more than 700 analog channels operating under the government paying little to no revenue. The establishment of a nationwide television provider saw the nation’s television revenue skyrocket, with the company paying more than 850 million in taxes to the government cine its establishment. The television provider has also begun its own internet service recently.

In conversation with Sudip Acharya, the managing director of Dish Home Nepal the government’s plan to increase the internet coverage in the nation is to soon come to fruition with Internet providers such as Dish Home giving it their all to meet that goal. However there is also the general feeling of a lack of commitment from the government’s part in helping facilitate the completion of its own goals. Factors such as line poles and wires were and continue to be an issue when it comes to expanding the internet coverage. Then add that to the issue of a 36 percent tax rate to these Internet Service Providers and the result is a rather lethargic pace of expansion.
