On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the United States, climbers from the two nations will hold a joint mountaineering expedition.

In 1947, the United States recognized Nepal as a sovereign nation and diplomatic relations were formally established between the two countries in 1948.

To celebrate this occasion, a team of Nepalese and American mountaineers are set to climb Mount Denali in Alaska, USA. The expedition has been named as Nepal Friendship Team. The expedition will start on June 2, 2022. Nepal’s renowned climber Karma Tenzing and renowned American climber Mark Parela are leading the expedition. The team will also include several world record holders as well as national record holders.
