The Department granted permission for climbing Manaslu (8,163m) which is located in Gorkha district and Nuptse (7,864m) in Solukhumbu district.

The permit has been issued for a single climber for Nuptse which sits adjacent to the world’s highest mountain, Sagarmatha (Mt Everest), and the world’s fourth-highest mountain, Mt Lhotse while four climbers will attempt to scale Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world, according to Department’s officer Bhismaraj Bhattarai.

Bhattarai shared that the Department had received many applications for expeditions on other mountains, a majority of them were for Mt Everest and Mt Annapurna.
