‘Carry Me Back’ (CMB) program has begun for the autumn trekking season. Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) has requested all trekkers trekking in the Everest Region to participate in the CMB program – a great way to reduce carbon footprint while trekking in the foothills of Mt. Everest.
The main aim of this program is to transport semi-processed recyclable materials, such as aluminum cans and PET bottles for recycling with voluntary support from trekkers. SPCC has set up a pickup station at Police Check Point, Misilung near Namche Bazaar where anyone interested can pick up approximately 1 kg bag on his/her way back to Kathmandu and drop the bags at our drop-off station located near Lukla gate.
