KATHMANDU: Today, gold and silver prices have experienced a notable decrease in the Nepali market.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Federation, gold is now trading at Rs 151,300 per tola, a drop from Rs 167,200 per tola recorded on Sunday. This reflects a decrease of Rs 15,900 per tola.
Silver prices have also declined, falling by Rs 115 per tola. It is currently being bought and sold at Rs 1,845 per tola, down from Rs 1,960 on Sunday.
This significant drop in gold and silver prices is attributed to the government’s recent decision to lower the tax on gold imports from 20 percent to 10 percent.
This tax reduction has played a key role in the sharp decline in gold prices observed on Monday.
