KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has seen its lowest trading volume in three months.
While the NEPSE index rose by 5.10 points to 2,581.60 today, the trading volume shrank by around Rs 3.5 billion. Today, 9,434,900 shares of 309 companies were bought and sold 43,729 times, resulting in a trading volume of Rs 3.597,445,334, according to NEPSE. This trading volume is the lowest since the last week of Asoj.
The financial sector, which saw a high decline in trading on Tuesday, has recovered and seen a high growth today. The financial sector has increased by 3.87 percent, the development bank sector by 1.68 percent, and the hydropower sector by 1.24 percent. Similarly, hotels and tourism increased by 0.95, investment by 0.09, manufacturing and processing by 0.25, non-life insurance by 0.22 and trade by 0.63 percent.
Other sub-indices, however, saw a decline. Banking by 0.72, life insurance by 0.00, microfinance by 0.16, mutual funds by 0.17 and other groups by 0.41 percent.
While the share price of Trishuli Hydropower Company Limited has seen a positive circuit, the share price of Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited has seen a negative circuit.
Based on the transaction amount, the highest number of shares worth Rs 218.217.349 of NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited has been bought and sold today. Based on the number of shares traded, 1.734.589 shares of Sunrise Bluechip Fund have been bought and sold.
