Promotion of industries with domestic investment stressed

Various speakers have stressed on the need for protection and promotion of industries operated on domestic investment.

At a programme organized at Jeetpur, Bara on Saturday, speakers said support from all sides was necessary for the promotion of domestic industries.

Country's economy would improve only when the industries with domestic investment were protected and promoted, the speakers said at an interaction organized by Nepovit Times Company run by Nepal Ceramic Industries Pvt Ltd.

All sides should be serious towards creating an environment for employment opportunities, they viewed.

On the occasion, Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS)'s executive chairperson Dharmendra Jha stressed the need to promote industries with domestic investment and local production.

He further said all three tiers of government should seriously take the problems facing the industries with domestic investment in regard to the registration of customs and availability of raw materials and explore resolving measures.

On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Bara, Nawaraj Sapkota said the administration was ready to protect and promote industries paying taxes and generating employment opportunities in the country.

Central member of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Dr Subodh Gupta said the industries with domestic investment were collapsing in lack of raw materials and competent human resource in the country.

Chairperson of Nepal Ceramic Industries Pvt Ltd Shambhunath Jha said the tiles industry was operated to identify the locally available raw materials and manufacture reliable tiles at a reasonable price.

Claiming that the company established in Jeetpur sub-metropolis of Bara in 2079 BS has provided employment opportunities to around 500 people across the country, he said they were successful in keeping tens of thousands dollars spent in the supply of tiles in the past one year.

The company stretched over the area of around 5.5 bighas and was being operated at the investment of around Rs 200 crores.

Director at the Company Beema Jha said the industry was manufacturing quality goods from local raw materials and sending them to the Nepali market.
