The Government of Nepal has formed a negotiating team to obtain a concessional loan of USD 150 million (approximately Rs 17 billion) from the World Bank for Growth and Development.
This information was given by the spokesperson of the government and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki at a press conference held today to make public the main decisions of the cabinet meeting of the government of Nepal. The meeting also decided to exempt the members of Himal Arohan Dal (Nepal Army) from the salute fee and bail amount, to give in-principle approval to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to start the process for setting up a teachers' hospital, according to Karki.
Likewise, the cabinet meeting also appointed former president of Nepal Press Union Sameer Jung Shah as chairman of Nepal Television for a maximum of four years, appointed Prof. Dr. Shilu Manandhar as vice chancellor of Nepal Open University, promoted joint secretary Rameshwar Dangal to the post of secretary to the government. It has been decided to promote the category and similar posts and fix the minimum price of raw milk at Rs 56.04 per liter.
The meeting also determined the scope of work for various Land Revenue and Survey Offices.
