In the first nine months of the current Fiscal Year, the trade deficit has reached over 1.3 trillion rupees. According to the data of the Customs Department, the difference between the amount paid in imports and the amount received from exports till mid-April is Rs. 136.89 billion.
The total import of goods during this period was Rs. 1466.66 billion. Exports during the same period amounted to Rs. 160.57 billion. As a result, the trade deficit is over Rs 1.3 trillion.
The share of imports in Nepal's total foreign trade is 90.13 percent and the share of exports is 9.87 percent.
