Police arrested 13 people involved in gambling offences from Bhotebahal in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)-13.
Two of the arrested have been identified as Raj Kumar Nagarkoti (43) of Dorambha Rural Municipality-3 in Ramechhap district and Milan Bahadur Magar (27) of Sundhara in KMC-22 while the names of the other 11 have not been disclosed yet.
Based on a tip-off, a joint team of security personnel deployed from the Teku-based Metropolitan Police Range (MPR) and Janasewa-based Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC) nabbed them from Nagarkoti's residence in Bhotebahal on Saturday evening.
The police also seized Rs 530,600 and recovered 11 decks of cards from their possession.
Meanwhile, police also arrested five gamblers from Balaju in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16.
Two of the arrested have been identified as Kamal Bam Malla and Madhav Mahat of the same metropolitan while the names of the other three have not been disclosed.
Acting on a tip-off, the Balaju-based Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC) personnel apprehended them from Malla's garage in Chamati on Saturday afternoon.
The police also recovered Rs 38,445 and seized three decks of cards from them.
Further investigation into both cases is being carried out, informed the police.
