Devotees continue to visit Pashupatinath Temple on the occasion of Mahashivaratri. Around 300,000 devotees have visited Pashupatinath temple till 11 am.

By 8 o'clock in the morning, devotees could easily stay in the queue and enter the temple. According to the Pashupati Area Development Fund, the devotees entered the temple and stayed inside for 20 minutes to half an hour before 8 am.

Due to the low number of devotees in the cold weather in the morning, the devotees who arrived early were comfortable with visiting and worshiping. After eight o'clock, the crowd of devotees at the Pashupatinath temple has increased along with the traffic coming from different places in the Kathmandu Valley. Devotees who regularly visit Pashupatinath had done so before seven o'clock in the morning.

After eight o'clock, the line began to grow, said Revathiraman Adhikari, spokesperson of the fund. He said that the east line is near Guhyeshwari temple, the north line is over Chabahil, the west line is around Jayabageshwari Gaushala and the south line is near Tribhuvan International Airport.

According to the fund, arrangements have been made for one million devotees to visit Pashupatinath temple today on the occasion of Mahashivaratri. Today, security has been tightened in the Pashupati area. About 10,000 security personnel including 5,000 Nepal Police, 3,500 Armed Police Force, National Investigation Department, and Nepal Army have been deployed in the Pashupati area, said Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, Member Secretary of the Fund.
