According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Department, there was a high pressure of passengers leaving the Kathmandu Vallley on Wednesday. On Wednesday alone, 83,660 people left the Kathmandu Valley.
On Wednesday, 11,233 vehicles left Kathmandu through various checkpoints. With the election approaching, the number of passengers entering the valley is decreasing and the number of passengers leaving the valley has increased exponentially.
About 59,081 people had left Kathmandu on 10th May alone. This number was 50 thousand 930 on 9th May and 55 thousand 746 people had left Kathmandu on 8th May. According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police, 53,000 people left the valley on 7th May.
The number of passengers entering the valley has been less than normal for the past few days, according to the department. On Wednesday, 35,657 passengers entered Kathmandu from 9,221 vehicles.
Vehicles will not be allowed to run from midnight on Thursday.
