A chariot rally was organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of Mahashivaratri, a Hindu festival observed annually.
Organized by the Yogi Naraharinath Spiritual Council Trust, the rally started at the Nepal Academy in Kamaladi and concluded at Mahadevsthan before going through Kamalpokhari to New Baneshwor via Gyaneshwor, Ratopul, Jayabageshwori, Gaushala, and Old Baneshwor.
The Trust has been organizing the rally in Kathmandu since 2066 BS in a bid to protect the Sanatan religion and culture. Over a dozen organizations participated in the 14th chariot rally, said the Trust's Chairperson Shankar Paudel. The chariot carried statues of the god Shiva and the goddess Parvati.
