The vehicles carrying garbage of Kathmandu Metropolitan City have been stopped by the residents of Banchare Danda.
According to Purna Chandra Bhattarai, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police, a vehicle carrying garbage was blocked on the way to Banchare Danda.
Bhattarai said that although around 60 vehicles were carrying garbage from the metropolis, the garbage could not reach Bancharedanda due to local people stopping it.
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City had issued a notice saying that the garbage that has not been collected for a week will start to be collected from today. It was informed that garbage collection will start from this morning.
However, due to the construction work of the road leading to Banchare Danda waste disposal site was going on, and the Metropolitan Municipality had stopped the garbage collection and drop off for a week.
