The meeting of the House of Representatives, which was supposed to be held today at 1 pm, will now be held only after the election of the Vice President.
The Parliament Secretariat has issued a notice and informed that the meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled to be held today has been postponed until March 19.
As both parties, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML informed the Parliament Secretariat that they would be in the opposition. After that, in coordination with the parties, the Parliament Secretariat issued a notice and postponed the meeting.
In the notice issued by Bharatraj Gautam, it is mentioned that the Speaker has decided to postpone the meeting of the House of Representatives due to special reasons.
The special reason is that Nepali Congress and CPN-UML are both in the opposition. A leader said that the Parliament meeting was adjourned after both the main opposition parties, Congress and UML, sat on the bench.
CPN-UML, which was previously in the government, withdrew its support to the government and left the government.
Nepali Congress, which has been sitting on the bench of the opposition despite giving a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, is now in an eight-party ruling coalition.
