The Pashupati Area Development Trust, under the direction of the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale, has closed Hotel Anand at the Nepal-India Friendly Dharamsala.
The team had brought a notice for the hotel to vacate but were denied entry by the hotel staff. In response, the trust closed the gate of Hotel Anand from outside. The trust locked the gates on Friday evening after the employees of Batas Group did not allow the government team to enter the hotel.
Treasurer of the development trust Narayan Subedi said that the trust has posted a notice at the gate informing them not to use the contents of the hotel. He said, "We were not allowed in. So we locked the gate and returned." Stating that Hotel Ananda was not working as per the agreement, the trust had decided to terminate the agreement reached with Hotel Ananda Pvt. Ltd. on March 31. The Batas group had not agreed to the decision of the trust.
Last Monday, the Pashupati Area Development Trust issued a public notice to vacate the Pashupati Dharamsala building run by Hotel Ananda Pvt. Ltd. The case related to the Nepal-India friendly Pashupati Dharamsala in Pashupatinath has been postponed by the Patan High Court for April 10. The investigation committee formed under the coordination of the treasurer of the trust Subedi had suggested cancelling the agreement with Hotel Ananda Pvt. Ltd.
