At a press conference organized by the Sri Sri Sri Harsiddhi (Jaladyo) Dance Main Committee in Jayawageshwari today, it was informed that traditional drama including dance would being performed for three days. It has been informed that 100 devotees will come from Lalitpur Municipal Corporation Ward No. 28 for the procession.

Harsiddhi dance started in the time of King Vikramaditya and stopped in his time. The fact is that Amar Malla restarted this dance in 1077, said Mukunda Raj Vaidya, an expert on the culture of the Pashupati region. This dance was stopped in the middle even after Amar Malla restarted it. It was started again by King Pratap Malla. Even before 2009, the Jatra had disappeared for almost half a century.

Dharma Govinda Maharjan, a local of Harsiddhi says that the procession was stopped due to lack of coordination between the Guthi Sansthan, Pashupati and the locals of Harsiddhi during the Panchayat period. After 50 years of co-ordination of all three parties, this procession of historical significance had started again. According to the history of the beginning of the Jatra, the tradition of musical drama has been established in Nepal since about two thousand years ago. The procession will leave Pashupati on April 10. It is estimated that a budget of Rs. 2 million will be required for the trip. Necessary budget will be raised from the Pashupati Area Development Fund, the locals and the supporters.
