Nepali Congress (NC) has formed a 37-member central work execution committee. The central working committee meeting of the party that held today virtually took the decision.
The committee comprises Prime Minster and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ramchandra Poudel, deputy president duo, Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhanraj Gurung, general secretary duo, Gagan Kumar Thapa and Biswo Prakash Sharma and deputy general secretaries, Farmullah Mansoor, Bhishmaraj Angdembe, Umakanta Chaudhary, Mahendra Yadav, Mahalaxmi Upadhyay, Kisor Singh Rathor, Bardi Prasad Pandey and Jeewan Pariyar.
Also included in the committee are Gopalman Shrestha, Prakashman Singh, Bimlanedrra Nidhi, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Dr Shashanka Koirala, Chitralekha Yadav, Dr Ramsharan Mahat, Arjunnarsingh KC, Dr Prakashahan Mahat, Sunil Bahadur Thapa, Dr Shekhar Koirala, Bal Bahadur KC, Balkrishna Khand, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Uma Regmi, Ramesh Rijal, Dr Narayan Khadka, Jeep Tshiring Lama, Sujata Koirala, NP Saud, Jeewan Bahadur Shahi and Ananda Prasad Dhungana, shared NC central office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.
President Deuba had presided the meeting while General Secretary Thapa had presented the agenda.
According to the NC statute’s clause 23, the central performance committee shall comprise of party President, vice-presidents, general secretary, treasurer and deputy general secretary as ex-officio members. Likewise, the statute has mandated the President to propose the names of 31 members in the working committee for the central executive committee keeping in mind the principle of inclusion.
In today’s meeting, the President had only proposed the names of 24 members. The parliamentary party leader and central spokesperson are the ex-officio members of the performance committee.
Now NC has 13 office-bearers and the post of treasurer and spokesperson have yet to be nominated.
