Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to make anyone pay a fine of Rs 15,000 if they are caught throwing garbage on the road at night.
Last night in the Kuleshwar area of Ward 14, a vehicle was caught by the city's night monitoring team while dumping garbage in a bag. After paying the fine, the vehicle has been released with the condition of not littering.
The metropolis has strictly monitored the unauthorized dumping of garbage. Rabinman Shrestha, head of the environmental management department, says that the Internet service provider has cut the wires in the Putalisadak road area and obstructed public traffic. The risk of accidents has increased since then.
