A young man was injured by police firing during the protest in the Bancharedanda area of Kathmandu, where garbage is dumped.
After a local resident stopped a vehicle carrying garbage from Kathmandu, the police fired rubber bullets while removing the obstruction. Man Bahadur Tamang, the ward chairman of Dhuniveshi Municipality-1, informed that Kamal Tamang, a local, was injured by a bullet fired by the police near his eye.
According to Tamang, he has been admitted to Manmohan Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment. A rubber bullet is stuck above his eye.
There was tension between police and local residents in Bancharedanda area all day on Tuesday. Amidst the tension, more than 150 vehicles dumped garbage in Bancharedanda.
