Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Agni Sapkota has said that he was effortful to effectively run the Parliament business.
While addressing the 7th assembly of the Society of Parliamentary Affairs Journalists here on Saturday, Speaker Sapkota shared that the Parliament was an elected body having public faith therefore, its role should be made effective to address peoples’ agendas.
He said, “I take a strong and effective decision to properly forward the house business which would be evaluated by the history.” He also expected media’s positive roles to point out the weaknesses and bring the public issues in front.
National Assembly secretary Rajendra Phuyal argued that the parliamentary journalists’ role was important in the areas of investigation and archiving the parliamentary activities. The founding chair of the society Hari Bahadur Thapa opined to make the society’s role effective adding that it should still work hard to achieve its objectives.
On the occasion, society’s publication ‘Hamra Mananiya’ (Our Parliamentarians) was launched. The society is holding election for its new working committee today itself.
