Ace International Business School held a festival on August 20, 2022, at the Central Courtyard of Chhaya Complex in Thamel. Giving their sixth-semester students the specific assignment of planning an event independently was a practical learning to a greater extent.
While entering the courtyard, there were numerous food stalls run by both students and other eateries, as well as exquisite beverages. There were various attractions such as a runway showcase, a flash mob, a college performance by the college's young talented vocalists, and three special performers from Garage Entertainment, Oasis Thapa, Aakash Khadka, and Sushant Ghimire, who were the fiesta's main attraction.
Prinsha Tuladhar, a student and an organizer of the fiesta says, "We organized this event as part of our assignment, but for most Ace- IBS students, it was their first and biggest event". The students worked harder as they aimed to make it big enough to leave an impact on those who attend. Their vision is to create an enjoyable environment for both college students and outsiders as well. "We have worked extremely hard to make this vision a reality", Tuladhar adds.
"We organized this event as part of our assignment but for most Ace- IBS students, it was their first and biggest event," says Prinsha Tuladhar, a student and fiesta organizer. The students worked harder because they wanted it to be large enough to have an impact on those who attended.
People were enjoying the food, drinks and songs at the same time. The audience was packed with energetic young people who sang along with the vocalist. There was no room to walk through at times.
Milina Tamrakar, Associate Director of BBA, comments on their students' teamwork, "The event went so well, more than we expected. Preparing an entire event without administrative expertise is difficult." They used to hold events on campus, but when their students expressed a desire to try something new on their own, they agreed and believed in them.
"It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, time, and teamwork to put on an event like this. From looking for sponsors to coordinating and managing everything for an event, it is something that made me happy and proud of my students," she adds.
When asked about the festival's success, Ashryaman Shrestha, The Event Manager and an ACE college student, says, "We weren't expecting such a large crowd. To be honest, the weather was on our side yesterday as well, which was a very good sign. So, the event went very well for me."
"Seeing how our seniors, the event coordinators, pulled off this exciting event within such a short time frame has given me a lot of positive encouragement to do it again in the future," said Yash Hada, a student who performed at the Ace- IBS Fiesta.
Everyone at Ace International Business School, including faculty and staff, event organizers, and fellow students, were ecstatic about the event and overjoyed with its success.
